WHY NOT ME?
-
What makes me unique?
I am a proud half-Portuguese woman who can play young, and while I have a very sweet and innocent “look”, I have a full, raspy and mature sound. I consider this to be a unique combination, though I am trained to make any physical and vocal adjustments to better suit my character.

Whose career do I want?
Reese Witherspoon. I admire lots of actresses, but Miss Witherspoon has the range, strength, and longevity in her career that I strive for. I am inspired by her drive, talent, and creativity. She has become a force in the industry as a determined woman who has expanded her acting career by having created and sold her own production company. Just like Reese, I have the fervor to create my own content and continue to build on any success I have. I am no quitter and my heart is in the process.

What is my technique?
I am always learning - of course from doing, but also also from watching and listening. It is critical for me to always be working on enhancing my craft. My approach involves becoming controllably obsessed with my character - digging into their wants, values, relationships, and beyond to fully transform. I don’t believe in planning the ins and outs of my performance. There is something so beautiful in discovering in real-time how different circumstances can bring out different moments and feelings. To me, it’s this kind of moment-to-moment authenticity that makes art that much more interesting.

What keeps me going?
Delusion?! Maybe - but passion for sure. I’ve learned to love auditioning and make the most of any opportunity I get to play with a character. I am also very lucky because I have the most supportive family and friends. I am happy and proud that I am pursuing my dream. Whenever I come across someone who questions my efforts or judges my career choice, I just repeat the three words my Dad always said to me before every audition as a kid, “Why not you?” If it’s got to be somebody,
why not me?
